What we earn
When you book a property through a widget or link on this site, we earn a commission from the OTA (Booking.com, Expedia, Hotels.com) or the affiliate network (Awin, CJ, Impact) that manages the property’s chain-direct programme. The commission is paid by the operator, at no cost to you. Your rate does not change because of us.
Where commissions come from
Booking Partner Program (primary OTA). Expedia Group Affiliate (parallel OTA). Hotels.com via Expedia. Awin (Belmond, Anantara, Wilderness, Rosewood chain-direct). CJ Affiliate (Marriott luxury, Hilton LXR/Waldorf, IHG Six Senses). Impact (One&Only, Nihi, Six Senses). Aman and andBeyond bespoke direct at scale from year 2 onwards.
How ranking stays independent
Every ranking is set by the editorial team on the six-point rubric described in how we review. Commission rates do not affect ranking. A property with a 15% chain-direct commission does not outrank a property with a 4% Booking.com commission on the strength of that fact alone; if it does, that is coincidence, not causation. We publish the rubric so you can audit the calls yourself.
Sponsored content policy
We do not accept sponsored posts. We do not run display ads. We do not accept payment for placement. Any exceptions (a property pays for a review or a placement) would be labelled at the top of the page in bold, on the page, above the fold, in the same typeface as the H1. There are no such labels because there are no such payments.
